SKI GREEN AT TSV
SkiGreen is a partnership between the Bonneville Environmental Foundation (BEF) and leaders in the winter sports industry to build support for non-polluting renewable sources of energy (such as wind and solar energy).
Ski areas depend on a reliable snow-pack to provide their guests with a high quality winter-sports experience. But air pollution from greenhouse gases - primarily from burning fossil fuels such as coal, oil, and natural gas - is causing unseasonably warmer temperatures, reduction in snow-pack levels and ultimately lower quality ski conditions over fewer ski days.
Taos Ski Valley has made a visible commitment to support renewable energy and to encourage our guests to support renewable energy through sales of SkiGreen Tags. Guests can buy the tags at the ticket office for $20 with a season pass and $2 with a lift ticket. Each for purchase along with season passes for $20 and lift tickets, for just $2. Each SkiGreen Tag buys enough renewable wind energy to offset the pollution produced by driving 150 miles. When guests SkiGreen, they reduce the impacts caused by their own activities, such as the air pollution produced by driving to their favorite ski area.
