Taos Having Best Season Since the '70's

Taos has received over 141 inches of snow this season making for some of the best conditions since the 1970s. "The Mountain is skiing as well as at any time in the last 20 years," said Todd Rawlinson of Taos. "You can ski in places that I have never seen skied before."

"Beautiful," commented Marilee Kuelel of Ranchos, "Best I have seen in all my years up here." The storm of Dec. 9, 2007, started off as rain then dumped over 68 inches of snow that "globbed" on to every surface. "Our early storms were dense and deep," said TSV Ski Patroller Dave Hahn of Arroyo Seco. "The storms really set up our steep and narrow chutes, they have never been this user-friendly.

With the great snow and mountain specials like the $75.00 ski weeks in January (Beginning on the 20 & 27), there is no better time to ski in Taos. And the Taos Winter Wine Festival is just around the corner, January 23-February 2. What a fantastic way to see what makes Taos so special. Get your tickets early on 999dine.com.
