Jeep King of the Mountain Series to Host National Open Qualifier for Amateur and Pro Skiers on February 9 at Taos Ski Valley. Top Men�s and Women�s Finalists Earn Spots in Skiing & Snowboarding World Professional Championships on February 10.
Who/What: The Jeep� King of the Mountain Series (www.jeepsports.com) has announced that it will host a National Open Qualifier on Friday, Feb. 9, to determine the final five roster spots for the ski portion of the 2006-2007 Skiing & Snowboarding World Professional Championships, taking place the next day, Sat., Feb. 10, at Taos Ski Valley.
Each racer will be timed on the Jeep King of the Mountain�s Y-cross racecourse, with the top three fastest men�s times and top two fastest women�s times advancing to the World Professional Championships against Winter Olympians, World Champions and National Champions from across the globe.
At stake is a share of the richest cash purse in the industry, topping $450,000 plus cash bonuses from John Paul Mitchell Systems.
When/Where: Registration for the National Open Qualifier will take place on Thursday, Feb. 8, from 12:00 p.m. � 6:00 p.m. at the Time Square Conference Center. The registration fee is $45.00 and includes event lift ticket. The National Open Qualifier will begin on Friday, Feb. 9 at 11:00 a.m.
